BMW Rockster 1130cc

Being a goofy ßrit, this thing did wonders for my first experience of a motorcycle from the Bayerische Motoren Werke. I particularly liked the stripped down (for a Beemer) look, especially with its neato front headlamp set-üp and the nice wide handlebar arrangement. The seating is quite high and lends itself to a favorable elbows-up motocross style angle of attack with those corresponding (read:quick) handling traits that only naked's can offer.

Buell XB9S Lightning

It's a wonderful thing. The ability to pass between two countries, enjoying the courtesy of each, as if you were a native of both. Me? - I get to wave the Stars and Stripes and sip my tea in between Monty Python repeats on BBC America.

It's winter in Florida, which means perfect biking weather for three fabulous months of the year. Unfortunately, and due to the scarcity of this model I'm forced from the lush and luxuriously equipped 2WF garage, 3000 miles west to California to go taste the flavor of Erik Buell's latest creation.

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport

The V7 Sport was a limited production sportbike designed to appeal to the sporting market that Moto Guzzi's touring oriented Eldorado had left numb. The V7 Sport was conceived from the ground up to be a sportbike, receiving its very own lighter frame. And nearly everything bolted to the V7's backbone was unique to the machine rather than being just parts from the Eldorado's spares rack. One exception to that is in the friendly ergonomics from the Eldorado that ensured that the V7 would be a bike capable of being ridden all day in comfort.

SUDA Kawasaki ZRX1100

We haven’t yet had a chance to throw a leg over Kawasaki’s, new to the States, ZRX1100, but we thought it might be fun to give you a taste of dessert before dinner and let you see a ZRX1100 that was modified by a shop in Japan. This naked bike has been available in Japan for two years now, so we thought you might appreciate learning about how others have had some fun hopping-up the thing. Here’s the scoop from our Japanese correspondent, Rick Williams. You might be surprised to see from where some of the hot parts came.

Suzuki GSX R-600

So there I was flying out to Sunny California to go test ride the new Gixxer 1000 and 600. Come to California, they said. Great weather, they said. Well, it rained and rained, consequently, we came back with some super soggy pic's of the 600 and no real ride impression. So here's a Sunny Florida review, where tires are warm and sticky and the sun is always, always shining... Mike Emery.

I have previously owned a pair of older generation GSXR 600s, along with a 2000 R6, and a whole fleet of Honda 600s before that, including the original Hurricane, the impeccable F2, and the evolutionary F3. I have no allegiance to any particular brand over another. Right now it is hard to argue against Suzuki though. They have stepped up to the plate and are here to play hardball with their stunning GSX-R line.

Aprilia RSV-1000R

Last year, Aprilia introduced the "Dream Series" of their RSV-1000R Factory. The problem was, that just like a Turbo Porsche, a 40ft sport yacht and a house in Miami, it was a little out of my reach. Having a champagne taste with a beer budget, it didn't hurt me too much to admire the bike from afar. Hey, with the bespoke tailored Dainese matching leathers, gloves and helmet, combined with dreaming about the included trip to the Noale factory, this Nera helped keep me warm on many a cold night.

Triumph Legend TT

A Bike in Every Garage We're beginning to suspect that the guys at Triumph aren't a bunch of idiots. First they brought back a dead company from scratch by using a modular technology that allowed them to build multiple engine configurations and displacements inexpensively. Then they release a completely redesigned, high-tech, lightweight, sportbike with a distinct identity and performance that allows it to run with the best of its competition -- and all at a lower price than their previous machines. And through all of this, Triumph continues to produce retro versions of the bikes of the original marque that made it all worth dredging up the old Triumph name in the first place.

CBR1000RR

Honda's 2004 CBR1000RR ushers in a whole new era of inline-four Superbike performance. Taking its technical cues from the MotoGP-winning RC211V, the CBR1000RR redefines Superbike domination.

Suzuki SV650X

For '99 Suzuki will in fact be bringing their new 650 twin to the States. The bike looks much like a downsized version of the TL1000S and it is powered by a 650cc 90 degree V-twin.

Suzuki GSX1300R

Suzuki's all new GSX1300R Hayabusa is claimed by Suzuki to completely redefine sporting expectations. The Hayabusa pushes the envelope so far that Suzuki doesn't refer to the bike as a sportbike, nor as a supersport bike, but as an "ultimate sportbike." I guess that's called Hayabusa hyperbole. As you may have heard, Hayabusa is the name of a small Japanese falcon that has the ability to fly really, really fast. Reportedly at speeds up to 186 mph.

D1200R - BMW Based Concept Motorcycle

Every now and then, one of the many emails we receive from designers and builders stands out from the crowd, and this project, the BMW D1200R by Pablo Gonzalez de Chaves and Carlos Beltran, is one of the best to come along in quite some time.The year long project began with a BMW R1200R fitted with sensors and taken to the track where a great deal of performance data was gathered. Then the motorcycle was disassembled, extensive measurements were taken, entered into the computer and the redesign began. ng in quite some time

Thunder Star 1200

Stop the presses! er… stop the keyboards, I love this! Star Twin, a company over in Holland, has designed and built the Thunder Star 1200 TDI Sportbike. This is a 1200cc, three cylinder turbocharged direct injection diesel. They started with a 3 cylinder diesel engine from the VW Lupo, redesigned numerous parts using SolidWorks 3D computer modeling software, created patterns from those models and had them cast in aluminum. They use an FJ1200 5 speed gearbox. The frame is their own design.

700cc Royal Enfield V-Twin - The Musket

What you see here is a 700cc Royal Enfield V-Twin constructed using two 350cc top ends. The whole bike appears to have come from the factory, or maybe the “special vehicle operations” section, instead of the mind and work of a creative and determined owner. Aniket Vardhan, the builder, still wants to come up with a better exhaust arrangement, than short open pipes, but already, the bike looks fantastic. Aniket calls the 700cc Enfield V twin, “The Musket”, to keep the vintage gun (ala Bullet) reference alive. This is very impressive work. I have to admit, when I watched the videos at the end of this post, I just started smiling and kept smiling all the way through. I really like this bike!

Yamaha 1971 XS650

This is a very nice example of the 1971 XS650 Yamaha. It started life as the factory candy gold color from yamaha. It was a completely original exellent running bike before the restoration was started. The owner had the bike painted a two tone silver / grey color, although the color is not original the factory stripping is, the paint is done right and the color is awsome. It looks better in person, the pics don't do it justice. The frame was taken to bare metal and repainted black. All the chrome is excellent, not pitted. Rubber grommets, air boots, and fork seals were replaced, seat was redone, tires are new. This bike runs as good as it looks, It has 21322 original miles. Starts cold on first kick! Gets lots of thumbs ups when riding around town. Successfull bidder must paypal $500.00 down payment by 24hrs of close of auction. TED2009

Just unveiled at the TED2009 conference, the Mission One from Mission Motors, a hi-tech California startup company, building what is about to be the world’s fastest production electric motorcycle. How fast? 150 mph. Range? 150 miles. Torque? 100 foot pounds, instantly available whether you’re standing still or cruising at 60 mph, no gears, just roll it on … I think the game just changed.

Honda CBR 1100 XX Super Blackbird

The Honda CBR 1100 XX Super Blackbird, a well known as the combination of big engine power, easy operational error tolerance and touring comfort. Started to build in1997, the Blackbird was the result of Honda’s attemp to build the world fastest motorcycle production to steal the crown from the Kawasaki.

Aprilia RSV Mille 998cc

The Aprilla RSV Milla, together with the RSV Milla Factory are the bikes powered by high performanceV-twin engine with the 143 Horsepowere and 998 CC engine built by the Austrian Rotax. If you are well aware of the sport bike world, the RSV Mille Factory had won the Maxisport category for the 2006 Masterbike and the Masterbike of the year.

BMW K 1200 S

Ducati 1098

It’s a Ducati 1098 with a 1099 cc L-twin sport bike by Ducati. With this figure, the Ducati 1098 is well know to have the highest torque to weight ratio of any super bike production made ever.

Yamaha 125cc

Yamaha Motor India Private Ltd would launch three new bikes in India including Gladiator Type SS and RS (125 cc), YZF- R15 (150 cc, liquid cooled) and FZ (150 cc, air-cooled) this year. The company also plans to invest Rs 700-800 crore in the country to go into product development, marketing and manufacturing, indicated P Sam, group head, marketing and sales, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd
